About Me

A lifetime exploring food and the lure of a good story.

I was the type of kid who woke up early on weekend mornings to bake muffins and make omelets to order. I’ve always loved to cook, yet I’ve spent most of my life discovering ways to share ideas around food that include more than simply spending time in the kitchen.

I landed on journalism when I was in college and marrying these two passions has become a lifetime obsession. I’m a best-selling cookbook author, editor, writer, and publisher. Food and lifestyle marketer and blogger. Lifestyle digital media maker. Culinary television and video producer. Cooking teacher. I have boundless curiosity and a special knack for creating those little moments that make life a little extra special—two characteristics that have informed every aspect of my profession.

I moved to the Sonoma Valley with my husband and our three kids more than 16 years ago, drawn in by the land and small town living. I’ve never stopped appreciating Sonoma’s promise of garden-to-table cooking and easy gatherings. As a professionally-trained chef and a lifelong editor, I’m all about the details. Yet, I’m also a busy working mom who appreciates a good recipe shortcut and a farmers daughter who likes to get her hands dirty. It all comes together in content creation that revels in fresh flavors, ingredient-forward recipes, and the compelling stories around food and lifestyle that unite us.
